LG Banter -- Rumor2 -- released by U.S. Cellular

After being introduced Stateside by Sprint and Alltel, LG Rumor2 aka LG Banter has now reached U.S. Cellular too.

The Chicago-based CDMA operator sells the phone under the name of LG UX265 Banter, for as low as $49.95 -- with a two-year contract agreement and a calling plan of $39.99 or higher.

Part of LG's highly successful line-up of messaging phones, the Banter is a simple handset that features a full QWERTY keypad, Bluetooth, music player, a 1.3 Megapixel camera and memory expansion slot supporting microSDHC cards of up to 16GB.

In a Press Release issued today, Alan D. Ferber, Chief Marketing Officer at U.S. Cellular, declared:
"Our customers look for stylish phones that do more than make phone calls. Our LG Banter comes preloaded with useful applications including Your Navigator, Tone Room, a ringtone shop that is updated daily with music from every genre, Pacman and City ID, an enhanced Caller ID feature that displays the city and state of incoming calls, all of which help our customers stay connected."
You can buy the LG UX265 Banter starting today, via U.S. Cellular's website.

  1. Is there a special driver to connect to Windows 7 with this phone? I just got this phone and since it does not use a Sim card I can't get all my pics off my old phone onto this one. So then I got a memory card but when I plug the phone into the USB of my Windows 7 it does nothing and the phone says the USB is not connected when it is. Everything else works in that same USB port and the cord charges the phone so nothing is wrong with the cord. All I can figure is the phone is not compatible with 64 bit computers operating systems. Wish I would have known this BEFORE I bought this phone! :(
