And 2009 seems to be one of its best years when it comes to mobile phones: the company introduced highly-attractive devices like LG Arena KM900, LG GD900 Crystal and LG GC900 Viewty Smart, and is getting ready to launch the LG BL40 Chocolate, the world's first phone to have a 345 x 800 pixels display.
We're wondering: what's next? Well, LG is preparing other unique phones, that's what's next.
Take the LG Elva, for example -- an "easy-to-use text messaging phone". This phone has a jog dial, and a sliding mechanism that offers you either a QWERTY keyboard, or a numeric keypad. When in QWERTY (horizontal) mode, the keyboard lights up in blue; when in numeric (vertical) mode, it lights up in red.
The LG Elva should cots a mere $50. We're hoping that the final product has a larger display than the device presented in those images. Now we go to the LG Dome. Its selling point would be the fact that it has "larger keys in one small package". How's that possible? The phone is a horizontal clamshell, and LG wants to literally hide its QWERTY keyboard when you close it. When you open it, the keyboard would "bloom" and let you do your texting.
We know, this device right here looks familiar when closed -- that's because it's similar to the LG enV3 and LG Keybo 2.LG Dome should also feature a 3-inch internal display, GPS with turn-by-turn directions, HTML email and browser, MP3 and video player, and a 3 Megapixel camera. The phone's price would be somewhere around $150.
What about LG Synergy? Don't we already have Palm's webOS Synergy? Yes, we do, but LG Synergy seems to be the name of a netbook.
Based on Windows XP Home, LG Synergy has a 10-inch display and can wirelessly interact with your (LG) phone. Calls, text messages, calendar events and pictures from your phone can be viewed on the Synergy netbook -- which would be sold at $150 with a two-year contract agreement.
Of course, these products may never hit the market. But we're willing to bet our candy money on them.Source: Engadget Mobile
