LG KT770 to be renamed or cancelled

We knew that something was fishy about the LG KT770. Announced by LG in February at MWC '09, the KT770 was supposed to be one of the company's few smartphones based on Symbian. However, the handset's not released and it may never be.

We've contacted LG by email and asked about the fate of KT770. This is what we've learned:
As you know the KT770 was meant to be launched nearly a year ago now. The trouble we have is smartphones and cellular data networks are constantly being updated and improved. The KT770 has software on it that now needs to be improved to keep up with the changes and improvements we are seeing.

Unfortunately, after contacting our marketing and sales team, they still cannot give us a release date so we cannot guarantee the release date or if it actually will be. We have been told it maybe re-branded under another name.
So it looks like Nokia's almost dead Symbian S60 3rd Edition is to be blamed if the KT770 never hits the market.

If the smartphone gets to be renamed, though, we'd suggest LG to put Android on it -- but they'll probably have to change its display's resolution from 240 x 400 to 320 x 480 pixels for that. Oh and call it LG Phoenix or something alike.
