LG GT950 is AT&T's Arena

Update: LG GT950 Arena is now available at AT&T for $199.99 on contract.

As we've guessed many months ago, the LG GT950 is a touchscreen phone destined for AT&T. We know this because we've seen some photos of the phone -- and we're obviously going to show them to you, too: LG hasn't officially announced the GT950, and what's funny is that we've contacted some LG and AT&T reps and no one knew anything about the phone. But we're pretty sure that they'll announce it in the next few months.

We're also almost sure that the GT950 is just a customized version of LG Arena KM900 -- customized for AT&T, of course. This being said, the phone should feature LG's S-class UI, 3-inch touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixels, 5 Megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm headset jack and 8GB of onboard memory.

We'll be here to let you know when the GT950 gets to be properly unveiled.

LG BL40 Chocolate launched in India

The unique LG BL40 Chocolate has just been launched in India, bringing its 4-inch wide touchscreen display (345 x 800 pixels) and its super-long, stylish case to the world's second largest mobile market.

This pretty phone features accelerometer, Wi-Fi, GPS, stereo Bluetooth, Dolby Mobile sound enhancement, 3.5 mm headset jack, music player, video player, FM radio and FM transmitter, 3D image gallery, HTML browser, email, Instant Messaging, 7 motion-based games, 5 Megapixel autofocus camera with flash, and 1.1GB of storage space -- which can, of course, be expanded with a microSD card.

As expected, the LG BL40 is not cheap, being priced at Rs. 30,000 ($660) unlocked. Even so, we're sure that many Indian users will be lured into buying the phone.

LG GD970 and LG GM600 touchscreen phones coming soon

Update: LG GM600 Scarlet II has appeared in Brazil.

LG GD970 and LG GM600 are two upcoming touchscreen phones that should be announced by LG next year.

The LG GD970 has HSDPA and a 480 x 800 pixels display, so we assume it's the follow-up of LG GD900 Crystal -- the world's first phone to have a transparent keypad.

HSDPA connectivity is present in the LG GM600 too, but this handset only has a 240 x 400 pixels touchscreen display and will pro'ly be an entry-level phone -- just like the LG Cookie or the LG GD510 Pop.

As always, we'll bring more info as soon as we get it.

LG eXpo GW820 announced by AT&T

AT&T and LG have announced one of the most interesting touchscreen phones to hit the US market this year: LG eXpo GW820, previously known as LG Monaco and rumored to come with Windows Mobile 7.

The eXpo obviously doesn't come with WM 7 -- since this version of Microsoft's OS isn't even announced -- so users will have to be happy with Windows Moible 6.5.

LG eXpo GW820 is the first US phone to be powered by a 1GHz processor and it's also among the first to be offered with an optional pico projector (which allows you to project images and videos on a screen up to 40 inches).

AT&T will start selling the LG eXpo in mid-December for $200 on contract and after rebates.

LG GU230 coming to Ukraine, China

LG GU230, one of the phones that we were talking about not long ago, has been officially announced in Ukraine. The GU230 should be available on the Ukrainian market this month for a retail price of around $135.

Measuring 99 x 48 x 15.5 mm and weighing 89 grams, LG GU230 is not exactly a high-end phone, but it should be a good choice for customers in need of basic functions.

The GU230 features a 2.2 inch display with 176 x 220 pixels (we're not sure why LG didn't make it QVGA), A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, FM radio with RDS, FM recording, Music player, 1.3 Megapixel camera and quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity. The phone's 900 mAh battery should last up to 9 hours in talk-mode or about 500 hours in stand-by.

LG GU230 will be released in China too, since it appears on LG China's official website.
