LG e-reader coming. Kindle, iPad, beware

LG plans to introduce an e-book reader as soon as April this year. According to KW Kim, LG MEA's CEO, the company's e-reader would compete with the Amazon Kindle and the not-yet-available Apple iPad (which, as far as we're concerned, is one of the biggest wastes of time and money in the recent gadget history -- and we hope to see it on a Cracked list soon).

The LG e-reader should be first available in the Middle East and Africa. Pricing details weren't unveiled. Also, LG didn't mention the OS of its e-reader, but Linux is a likely candidate -- although LG might as well opt for Android, just like Barnes & Noble did for its Nook e-reader.

LG has recently showcased a flexible 19-inch e-ink prototype display, as well as a "Solar Cell e-Book", though we don't know if these have anything to do with the upcoming e-reader. But just in case, this is the solar cell e-book:

  1. I applied the sticker to the license plate of AJ's car as soon as we walked out and put the new registration card in the little booklet in his glove compartment.
