LG TB200 and GS108 for China

We've got news on two LG phones that should be available in China pretty soon: LG TB200 and LG GS108.

The LG TB200 is a brand new TD-SDCMA phone made by LG for China Mobile -- like the LG GW880. The phone is a candybar with a stylish design and a set of rather basic features:
  • TD-SCDMA (2G/1.9G)
  • GSM/GPRS/EDGE (900/1800/1900)
  • 2.4-inch QVGA display
  • Music player
  • Bluetooth
  • Email
  • 3 Megapixel camera
  • Video-calling camera
  • 80.5 grams
  • 114 x 49 x 14 mm
  • microSD card support
We don't know when the LG TB200 will be available, but the phone is already featured on LG China's website.

The LG GS108 seems to be the Chinese version of the LG GS100 seen not too long ago. The GS108 weighs only 65 grams, measures 103.9 x 43.5 x 12.9 mm and features: dual-band GSM connectivity, 1.5-inch TFT display with 128 x 128 pixels and 65k colors, FM radio, flashlight, microSD card support and a 950 mAh battery (with a claimed talk-time of up to 9 hours and a claimed stand-by time of up to 800 hours -- which is quite impressive).

The price of LG GS108 should be really, really low.

LG BL20v (BL20) Chocolate launched in India

LG has recently launched the BL20 New Chocolate phone in India, not long after releasing the BL40 there, too. The official LG Mobile India website lists the phone as LG BL20v, but, despite the new name, there aren't any differences between it and the BL20 that's available in Europe.

The LG BL20v / BL20 is a fashionable slider with a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, touch-sensitive navigation keys, GSM/HSDPA connectivity, HMTL browser, FM radio, Music player, Bluetooth 2.1, Widget hotkey, Clear Memo Capture with Text Scan, 5 Megapixel auto focus camera (with Schneider-Kreuznach optics and LED flash), 80MB of internal memory and a 2GB microSD card.

LG BL20v can be purchased in various retail stores across India for about Rs. 15,000 (325 USD).

LG GD880 Mini and GD510 Pop pass the FCC

The Federal Communications Commission has approved two new LG phones in the last few days: the LG GD510 Pop and the LG GD880 Mini.

The LG GD510 Pop is already available in Europe since the end of 2009, and we know that it's a 2.5G affordable phone with a 240 x 400 pixels touchscreen display, S-Class UI, Facebook, MySpace and Twitter integration, and a 3.15 Megapixel camera.

As for the LG GD880, this hasn't been officially announced, but it appeared in some leaked photos a few weeks ago (see the photos below). The GD880 Mini resembles the GD510 Pop, but its features are more advanced, including 3G, 3.2-inch 480 x 854 pixels touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 5 Megapixel camera.

At the moment, we don't know if the LG GD880 Mini or the LG GD510 Pop will be released in North America, but carriers like AT&T, Rogers, Bell and Telus may want to offer the phones.

LG Sm@rt GW620 and Sm@rt GW550 for Brazil

Also known as "LG GW620", "LG InTouch Max GW620" and "LG Eve GW620", LG's first Android smartphone has also been launched in Brazil (the second largest mobile market in the Americas, after the US), where it has a different name: LG Sm@rt GW620.

Naturally, the features of LG Sm@rt GW620 don't differ from the ones of the phone that's been launched in other parts of the world: HSDPA, 3-inch HVGA touchscreen display, 5-row QWERTY keyboard, widgets for social networking websites, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash, 1050 mAh Li-Po battery and a 2GB microSD card.

Another Sm@rt LG phone launched in Brazil is the LG Sm@rt GW550 -- a Windows Mobile 6.5 device. The LG Sm@rt GW550 has a QWERTY keypad, too, plus a 2.4-inch QGVA display, HSDPA, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, 3 Megapixel camera and a 1300 mAh Li-Ion battery.

LG announced that its Mobile Communications Division reported record results for the final quarter of 2009, as well as for the full 2009. Handset revenues for Q4 2009 were $3.3 billion; the operating profit was $57 million.

Looking back at 2009, it was indeed a good year for LG. The company released many nice phones. Let us remind you of some models: LG plans to sell 140 million phones in 2010, and we think it will actually sell more!

LG InTouch Max GW620 review

In case you haven't heard yet, LG launched its first Android smartphone in the UK under a new name: LG InTouch Max GW620. It's the third name the device gets, after the simple GW620 and the Rogers-exclusive LG Eve.

The LG InTouch Max GW620 is offered by T-Mobile in the UK, for free on plans starting at £18.00.

TechRadar has recently reviewed the LG InTouch Max, and we're presenting the main conclusions of the review:
  • the InTouch Max's case is made out of premium plastic, and yet the phone feels solid in the hand
  • the 3-inch 320 x 480 pixels resistive touchscreen display is OK - on par with the display of Nokia N900
  • the QWERTY keyboard slides-out nicely, and the 5-row keys are well-spaced; it looks like the keyboard is one of the best in this class
  • Android 1.5 runs smoothly on the LG InTouch Max GW620, although there are some moments when it freezes for a second. The phone can boot in two ways: simple Android, or with a version of LG's S-Class UI on top
  • messaging and push email work fine
  • the InTouch Max has Facebook, Twitter and Beebo integrated
  • the WebKit browser "simply works well"
  • GPS works pretty fast
  • the 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash is decent and can take good photos in daytime; video recording is also nice, apparently better than on the iPhone
  • the music player is the standard Android one
  • call quality is good
  • battery life is "remarkably good"
Overall, the LG InTouch Max GW620 is a pretty good Android phone for its price range. Make sure you read the full review here.

The LG 210 series is based on Windows Mobile 6.5 and is not too different from the GM750, which is already available in markets around the world).

The LG SU210 / KU2100 / LU2100 features a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, GPS, Windows Marketplace, T-DMB TV, "Meteorological Service for FMC", 5 Megapixels autofocus camera and 4GB of NAND Flash memory. The smartphone will cost ₩600,000 (about $520).

LG GS100 and GS200

LG is quietly rolling out a new series of phones -- the GS, which will likely include only low-end devices, like the ones from the GB series. The first two phones included in the GS series are LG GS100 and LG GS200, both candybars.

The LG GS200 features tri-band GSM/GPRS connectivity, a 2-inch TFT display with 176 x 220 pixels and 256k colors, 3.5mm headset jack (goodie), stereo speakers, MP3 player, Bluetooth 2.1, FM radio with RDS, email, 1.3 Megapixel camera with video recording, microSD card support (8GB) and a 1100 mAh battery (stand-by: up to 550 hours; talk time: up to 6.5 hours; music playback: up to 14 hours). The phone measures 106 x 48 x 13.8 mm, weighs 85 grams and should be released soon for about $130 (or 93 Euros).

The LG GS100 doesn't have a photo camera, and comes with a really small display -- 128 x 128 pixels, we assume. We don't know when it will be launched and neither for what price (under $100 is a fair guess though).

LG KM555 / KM555e preview

It's been a while since we've uncovered the LG KM555 / KM555e, and now we're presenting you the first preview of the phone. The LG KM555 preview comes, unsurprisingly, from Russia, where Mobile-review has the phone since last year.

What we have here is an Arena meets Cookie handset with a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display and a simple but nice design. The phone's UI is similar to the one we already saw implemented in the LG GD510 Pop. There are various widgets and you have access to social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook and Twitter.

The phone is an EDGE-only device, so you'll be probably missing the 3G connectivity. Fortunately, the LG KM555 has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g.

The KM555 has pretty good music capabilities, helped by features like a 3.5mm headset jack, Dolby Mobile, Music ID, and FM radio with RDS. The KM555 also provides access to LG Music Club, a website where you can search and download songs -- it looks like there will be more than 1 million tracks there in the near future, although the service might be available only in Russia.

Like the UI, the 3.15 Megapixel camera of LG KM555 is similar to the one found in the GD510 Pop, hence it's nothing special.

Bottom line: the LG KM555 quite nice, and if you're in the market for a simple touchscreen phone, you should check it out.

The LG KM555 is currently available in some South-Asian markets. In Europe, the phone will be probably known as LG KM555e and cost 210 to 230 Eur. Rogers might launch the LG KM555 in Canada, with 3G included.

More hands-on photos of the LG KM555e / KM555 after the break -- or at Mobile-review.

LG GX200: cheap dual SIM phone

LG GX200 is a basic candybar prepared by LG for Asia and South America. The phone has a simple design (in the vein of LG GM200) and its most important feature is the dual SIM capability with auto SIM selection and LED SIM indicators.

Future owners of the LG GX200 will also get a 2-inch display with 128 x 160 pixels, quad-band GSM connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0, Music player with Equalizer, FM radio, sound recorder, WAP 2.0, 1.3 Megapixel camera and support for MicroSD cards. The GX200 has a high-capacity battery (1500 mAh) and exchangeable back covers.

We've yet to find out the price of LG GX200, but, anyway, Asian and South American customers will pro'ly have to pay the equivalent of under 200 bucks for the phone.
